After several years lavished on research, proposals, rejection, testing and market analysis, producers can now dye Prosecco pink.
In fact, the Consortium has taken up the demands of an increasingly demanding market, analyzing consumption trends and noting the great appeal of rosé sparkling wines worldwide, in an area like Prosecco where the production of rosé sparkling wines was certainly not new.
A study carried out by the Consortium in 2018 found that consumers' perceptions of rosé sparkling wines were confused, so much so that most of them - both in Italy and abroad - were convinced they had already drunk Prosecco Rosé. Hence the Consortium's need to standardize and regulate production, guaranteeing consumers a Spumante Rosé of quality and certified origin, identifying it with the production territory and making it recognizable.
In a market such as Prosecco capable of reaching 500 million bottles annually and with the rosé trend growing strongly, the Consortium's medium-term estimates for Prosecco DOC Rosé production are around 30 million bottles.
It is also important to point out that, in the Consortium's project, the price positioning of Prosecco DOC Rosé will be higher than Prosecco, and over time, this rosé sparkling wine may even come to occupy 15%-20% of current bubbly production.
And we, as a leader in the production of Organic Prosecco certainly could not miss this important event.
And now it's really official: the Prosecco DOC Rosé Brut Pizzolato, certified organic and vegan!
A vintage sparkling wine that will combine the aromaticity and fruity characteristics of the Glera grape (90%) with notes of elegance, refinement and style of Pinot Noir (10%).
Following the regulations, the second fermentation takes place with the Martinotti/Charmat Method and lasts a minimum of 60 days.
Prosecco DOC Rosé Pizzolato, with residual sugar around 6-8 g/l has a bright pink color, with persistent froth. Delicate hints of white flowers, apple, pear typical of Prosecco mingle with well recognizable notes of red fruits.
Our Prosecco DOC Rosé Brut, joins as of today the line of Spumanti DOC, already composed of Spumante Prosecco DOC Brut and Spumante Prosecco DOC Extra Dry, which recently experienced a restyling of the label to give the line more prestige and elegance by implementing the quality of the label by embellishing it with a texture that echoed the style of the capsule.
....The future for Prosecco is definitely bright!
