Beyond Organic
Agriculture, passion and research for the future

Sustainability and Environment
Environment, research and sustainability are our core values

Meeting the needs of the present without compromising those of future generations-this is the true meaning of working sustainably!

Today the road to sustainability is a 6-lane highway. This for us is the only viable one

Sustainability in the vineyard
the green lung of our estate

Always certified ORGANIC, and since 2012 also VEGAN, to work our land we are always looking for innovative sustainable solutions.
The use of recovery sprayers and state-of-the-art machinery allow us to work while respecting the soil. Even in the grape harvest, the attentions are numerous, such as the reuse of grape seeds from which we make our grappas, oils or organic flours. Last but not least, the area of RESEARCH and DEVELOPMENT: from the "MI.DI.FEN.DO." project, related to the natural defenses of the vine, to the cultivation of RESISTANT GRAPE VARIETIES, whose consequent environmental impact for their cultivation can be reduced by 90%.

Sustainability in wines
fruit of our work and philosophy

In our wine lines, there is a single common denominator that combines the unavoidable choice of certified organic quality with the choice of packaging that reflects that philosophy.
From labels made of marc and recycled paper, to bottles with 94% recycled glass, from reusing cork with the ETICO project to using 100% recycled cartons. Communicative awareness to consumers is also high, such as that aimed at REUSING GLASS with our "M-Use" line.
organic is not only our daily goal, but it is the approach we apply to every choice we make.

Our Certifications
our commitment to consumer assurance
The daily commitment to the quality of our wines is an unavoidable choice that leads us to obtain all the certifications to guarantee our consumers.
Certifications are not limited to product alone, but we work year after year to obtain environmental, social and ethical ones.
Social Budgets
a transparent communication
We annually choose to adopt SOCIAL BUDGETS as a means of communicating our environmental impact: the objective of this communication tool is to report, with extreme TRANSPARENCY, the impact of the company's activities and actions, in their entirety, in the social and environmental context, illustrating its philosophies, policies and commitment to all stakeholders involved.

We want that through this tool those who choose a bottle of our wine can fully understand all the ideas and values that inspire our work.

AGENDA 2030
how we contribute

AGENDA 2030 for Sustainable Development is an action agenda aimed at people and the planet signed in September 2015 by the governments of the 193 member countries of the UN. It incorporates 17 Sustainable Development Goals - Sustainable Development Goals, SDGS - into a broad program of action with a total of 169 targets or goals.
'Common Goals' for all countries and all individuals: no one is excluded, nor should anyone be left behind along the path needed to put the world on the road to sustainability. We, too, choose to make a difference.

Certifications
The daily commitment in the unavoidable choice to the quality of our organic wines leads us to obtain all the certifications to guarantee our consumers.

Equalitas - Organization
Equalitas certification stems from the need to share an approach to sustainability among different representatives of the wine supply chain. The standard makes it possible to certify: companies/organizations (corporate level), products (supply chain level), and territories (vineyards). Our winery has been EQUALITAS certified, at the organization level, since early 2023.
Organization certification is based on an annual audit that aims to verify the following aspects:
- Product quality assurance (production chain and raw material traceability),
- The safety of the workplace;
- energy and water consumption;
- The management of waste and its responsible disposal;
- The well-being of employees and the work environment;
- the surrounding community and the relationship with the local area;
- Transparent communication to all stakeholders to the company.

Benefit Society
We have been a Benefit Society (SB) since 2022 by including within our charter the following key development points: environment, land, employees and organic farming.
Benefit Societies (SBs) are a special legal form of business introduced by Italian Law No. 208 of Dec. 28, 2015, and effective Jan. 1, 2016. In addition to the purpose of profit, these companies annually pursue one or more common benefit purposes, that is, goals that have a positive effect (or reduce a negative one) on society, the environment and territories, and the stakeholders who work with the company.

EU Agriculture - Euromark
It identifies organic products of European origin. The logo depicts stars representing the states of the European Union, placed in the shape of a leaf. The following information must be present next to the European logo: the information essential for identifying the nation, the type of production method, and the code of the inspection body.

Piwi International
We are part of the Piwi International association that aims to disseminate more information about fungal disease-resistant varieties. Their goal is to inform wine producers and subsequent consumers not only about the benefits, but also about the legal aspects of growing and producing wine from fungal disease-resistant varieties.

Usda Organic
All products of agricultural origin that are part of the certified wine must in turn be certified in accordance with the National Organic Program (NOP) regulations by the recognized body of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). We have been obtaining this important and significant certification since 2007.

Vegan Friendly
All of the winery's wines have obtained vegan certification since 2012; this means that at no stage of the production chain is the wine in contact with or treated with products of animal origin. Wine clarification for example is done with a mineral, called bentonite, and not with isinglass, albumin and/or other animal products.

The Bsci Code - Code of conduct
The Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) code draws from important international labor standards that protect workers' rights such as the International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions and declarations, the United Nations (UN) Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights as well as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.

GMO Free Verified
Our wines are free of raw materials that are derived from or contain genetically modified organisms. The Non-GMO Project's product verification program is North America's only third-party verification for non-GMO products and foods. They are established pioneers: the butterfly emblem first appeared on store shelves in 2010.

equalitas: unique approach to sustainability
"As 'custodians of the earth,' we feel a great responsibility to work through a production system that avoids the exploitation of natural resources, particularly soil, water and air, instead utilizing these resources within a development model that can be sustainable and enduring."
- Settimo Pizzolato.

2022
Social Budget 2022
WE BECOME A BENEFIT SOCIETY.
"We are proud to have become a BENEFIT SOCIETY . Cantina Pizzolato has always stood out for its attention to the environment, implementing practices aimed at sustainable development and focusing since its origins on organic farming, in times when it was not yet thinkable. This is a significant commitment for me and my family, who are currently at the helm of the winery, but the real purpose of becoming SB is linked above all to the future generations who will be at the helm of this company whose footprint will remain structured and stable in this way."- Settimo Pizzolato.

2021
Social Budget 2021
CELEBRATING 40 YEARS OF ORGANIC
"In 2021, my father GINO WOULD HAVE BEEN 100 YEARS OLD, and exactly 40 years ago I made the decision to join him in the family farm by embarking on the road of winemaking. It is precisely in memory of my parents and this great teaching that they passed on to me that often during the course of these months I have had the opportunity to recall the history lived so far, to proudlyrecount our successes but at the same time to find the right time to reflect on the mistakes and uncertainties that have characterized these years" - Settimo Pizzolato.

2020
Social Budget 2020
THE YEAR OF THE PANDEMIC
"The year 2020 was a year whose uniqueness I don't think we need to be reminded of. It was an extraordinary, sudden event that led each of us to ADAPT OUR OWN QUOTIDINITY to something we were totally unaccustomed to. We reinvented ourselves and You with us, we concretized projects in a completely different way than we had planned at the beginning of the year, we met in other places, we learned to look at things from other points of view. A kind of contact that allowed us to shorten distances but towhich we will NEVER get used to " - Settimo Pizzolato.

2019
DEVELOPMENT ACCORDING TO THE 2030 AGENDA
"2019 was an exciting although very challenging year: we reached a production that exceeded 5 MILLION BOTTLES with an expansion of our market in foreign states. It is always nice to see on international tables our bottle left from little Villorba. This means a lot to me and has always been a source of great excitement and pride.For allthis and much more, I sincerely thank everyone" - Settimo Pizzolato.

2018
OUR WINERY EXHIBITED IN BIENNIAL
"2018 was the year of the inclusion of our winery project within the VENICE BIENNAL OF ARCHITECTURE, emphasizing how such a structure was perfectly incorporated into the surrounding landscape. 2018 was also the year of the confirmation of our organic Prosecco Extra Dry as the best-selling sparkling wine in Sweden, one of the most sustainable countries in Europe.I sincerelythank all my employees and collaborators, my customers and all the suppliers and associations that work with us, alongside us, with commitment and passion every day" - Settimo Pizzolato.

2017
LAND DEVELOPMENT AND CUSTODY
"2017 was a year filled with numerous activities to support the innovation and development ofour company. Emphasizing the importance, for me and for us, of CUSTODY OF THE TERRITORY in which we live and of the very culture it expresses, I would like to confirm once againour willingness to implement projects and INNOVATION PROCESSES that improve both our companyworkforce and what, for generations, has welcomed and surrounded us" - Settimo Pizzolato.
