About Us
A life choice, the Organic

A life choice,
the biological one
Organic is a word that carries with it very deep concepts of respect, knowledge, well-being and collaboration. Our reality is dynamic and traveling toward a green future. In this clean and unspoiled nature, we do what we do best: we respect it.

Our Organic Wine
Drinking an organic wine means drinking a wine that has respect for the environment
Choosing organic for us means deciding to never stop learning, accepting that each vintage will still be different from the next, and being aware that only deep knowledge of the plant will get you
Will help defend it. Drinking an organic wine means drinking a wine that is respectful of the environment that generated it, a wine that will be equally mindful of the health of our consumers.
"Doing organic means prevention, and the solutions, every time, nature itself offers them to you."

BIO Roots Winery
More than 35 vintages have passed

"I remember my grandfather working his land and being healthy. I always wanted to live like that. I feel like a farmer and that's why I keep the tradition."
"I chose to join my father at the helm of our farm in 1981, beginning to experiment with alternative methods to chemistry such as integrated and guided pest management. More than 35 grape harvests have passed since that time and I feel as if I have lived as many lives; each vintage, each harvest is an adventure in itself, tiring, unique and unforgettable: there were many of us harvesting grapes, we were family. It was a time of celebration and fatigue was never felt. We would all wait for Grandma Giselda to bring us a snack, which most of the time consisted of a good sandwich and a "goto de quel bon." My dad Gino would lead the choirs and that "Barba" from which the name of our prestigious Malanotte DOCG - Il Barbarossa was born."
- remembrance of Settimo Pizzolato.

Pizzolato farm Settimo & Gino is born. Initially, the business is geared toward raising livestock and growing and harvesting fruit. Grapes and the resulting wine produced, go to supplement the offer. It was during these years that Settimo began experimenting with organic cultivation, making it the founding value of his business.
All wine production is bottled, leaving bulk wine marketing behind. The mobile bottling line is placed in front of the family home. The first wine labels bear, the distinctive arches of the villa, the same ones used as a symbol in Pizzolato's logo. The wines produced during these years are Verduzzo, Merlot and Cabernet.
6,000 bottles of sparkling/sparkling wine.
The farm obtains organic certification as recognition for all its products, from the orchard land to the countryside home of the vineyards. The farm area dedicated to vineyards increases from 2.5 hectares to 7.5 hectares. Organic viticulture officially becomes the indispensable and characterizing element of the farm.
20,000 bottles of sparkling/sparkling wine
Sparkling wines Frederik and Stefany are born: the first from Chardonnay, the second from Prosecco. Settimo chooses to dedicate them to his children. Wine production reaches 2000 bottles per type. The winery is ready to introduce organic wine abroad: Settimo and winemaker Walter, pack their bags and present 12 wines at the first BIOFACH in Germany.
400,000 bottles of sparkling/sparkling wine.
The winery comes to produce 1 million bottles a year. The extension of the vineyards reaches 58 hectares, and Settimo begins to work with external organic-certified suppliers. Thanks to the new structure built, storage capacity reaches 15,000 hectoliters. In these years the first Pizzolato bottle lands in the U.S., which becomes the 10th largest export country.
1,200,000 bottles of sparkling/sparkling wine.
Settimo 's firm belief that everyone should have the opportunity to drink healthy wines has prompted the company to extend its commitment to an ever-expanding market segment. Pizzolato with dedication obtains Vegan certification, making sure to adhere to all requirements, from vineyard care to winery operations.
3,600,000 bottles of sparkling/sparkling wine.
The company crosses the milestone of 4 million bottles produced per year, 2 million of which are sparkling wine. The bubbly's success is decreed by Scandinavian countries, and now the Pizzolato brand is present in 18 countries. The new headquarters of cantina Pizzolato is born, the facility now includes offices, tasting room and a direct sales outlet.
4,100,000 bottles of sparkling/sparkling wine.
After years of research and development in the vineyard and experimentation in the winery for the first time, the first wine from PIWI resistant vines is officially presented: the Novello 2019. The "M-use" line is also born: two sparkling wines, a Rosé Extra Dry and a Pinot Grigio Extra Dry. Elegant bubbles distinguished by a design bottle with the concept of vacuum to gain.
7,000,000 bottles of sparkling/sparkling wine.
The positive trend of recent years is confirmed by the 24 percent increase, with production of more than 9 million bottles all certified organic. Sustainability and responsible consumption even in packaging remain the main focus. Settimo Pizzolato Holding is founded and L'Officina del Vino opened to complete the hospitality offer.
7,500,000 bottles of sparkling/sparkling wine.
Pizzolato Holding buys Casale Terzo, an enchanting estate in Colle Val d'Elsa, in the heart of Tuscany, dedicated to a select production of Chianti and olive oil, again all of which products follow organic standards. cantina Pizzolato becomes a Benefit Corporation, intensifying its commitment to an already well-started journey toward corporate sustainability.
7,800,000 bottles of sparkling/sparkling wine.
In an ongoing commitment to social responsibility, cantina Pizzolato has obtained Equalitas certification, the aim of which is to share at the Italian level a unique approach to sustainability in the wine sector based on the three pillars (social, environmental and economic) and to disseminate a collective label of assurance for the consumer.
