Bulk wine is the big news of our 2023, a year that has challenged us in the availability of packaging raw materials and led us to other ethical and green paths. The decision to also offer bulk wine in our store was dictated by the desire to thus offer a wider range of our proposals while remaining consistent with the idea of giving our customers good, healthy wine from certified organic grapes and ethical at the same time.
But fake news and rumors about bulk wine and what revolves around it are numerous. Today we want to debunk the 5 most common false myths about bulk wine. Let's see what they are below:
1 - BULK WINE IS NOT OF QUALITY
Bulk wine is usually linked to an idea of poor quality, but it should not be perceived that way at all: a wine, whether bottled, bag-in-box or bulk, is always the result of man's careful work, which only if it were to fail, we would be faced with wines of poor quality. We offer three types of bulk wine-red, white and sparkling-whose certified organic quality is the very first goal, as well as for all our other bottled wines, with genuine and fresh flavors given by healthy and wholesome grapes. Bulk wine is the right choice for those varieties related to everyday use to have always ready on the table and to be paired with favorite dishes of the house. Try it to believe!
2 - BULK WINE CHANGES FLAVOR WHEN I TAKE IT HOME
Bulk wine will only change taste or may oxidize if the container it is poured into is not sanitized or cleaned properly. In our store we make sure that we properly sanitize the containers you bring from home and can equally give you glass bottles suitable for proper and subsequent storage at home.
3 - BULK WINE IS NOT GREEN
Contrary to what you might think, bulk wine is synonymous with ANTI-WASTE and is in fact an ethical choice, among the greenest you can make.
By buying bulk and then using the same containers or small demijohns that we already have at home, or reusing our glass bottles, we promote reuse and anti-waste actions, to decrease the amount of waste, make organic wine even more accessible to all wallets and reduce glass production. In this way, the relationship between company and consumer is solidified and becomes even more direct, real and concrete toward the same ideal of green philosophy.
4- BULK WINE DOES NOT KEEP WELL
False. Bulk wine behaves exactly like bottled wines. If stored poorly, the wine will lose its best organoleptic characteristics to the point where oxidation problems can also occur if kept in a hot or humid or unsuitable place. To store bulk wine well, it should be sealed with the reference cork and stored away from light sources, at a temperature of about 14°.
5- ALWAYS BETTER BOTTLED WINE!
By now we know, we like to go beyond the imposed schemes: this is one of those cases. Choosing a bulk wine, especially for those everyday, tradition-bound wines, means having an ethical, immediate, ready-to-drink and, above all, green wine at home. A genuine wine that doesn't need ... "clothes."
Come and try it out in our store in Villorba!
