OCTOBER 2023.
Today we introduce Cristina, a new member of our winery sales team. Let's read what she told us about herself!
1. How many years have you been part of the Pizzolato team and what role do you play in the company?
I arrived at La Cantina Pizzolato just over a month ago, a real New Entry! I am part of the sales team and work with my colleagues to sell our wines abroad.
2. What does your job consist of?
In my job I support in managing the relationship with foreign partners and developing markets where we are not yet present, I would say a very stimulating challenge! Soon I will also get to do some business travel, it has always fascinated me how in this world the personal relationship with the customer is essential, it is probably the aspect I like the most.
3. If you could change roles in the winery for a day, which one would you like to take on?
I think my role is the one that best suits my personality, however being a winemaker for a day would definitely give me an edge, it would be fascinating to better understand what lies behind a glass of wine and how it can take on different nuances based on its journey from vineyard to bottle.
4. Hobbies and passions in your life?
Trekking in the mountains is an activity that both tires me as much as it relaxes me, never more than when I am among the rocky peaks of the Dolomites do I understand the meaning of the phrase "unplugging." The passion that has been with me the longest, however, is music; in fact, I have been playing the piano since I was a little girl, and although growing up I have less time to practice, playing always takes me to another world.
5. If you were a wine, what Pizzolato wine would you be? And If you were a dish and wine pairing what would you come up with?
Among Pizzolato wines, I identify with Hurrà, a wine that respects nature and resembles me in this. In some ways it recalls home and tradition, in others it hints at newness and freshness. Like Hurrah, I also do not forget home but love to see and taste new places in the world. Pairing is a field in which to explore, from a more classic charcuterie board to a more extravagant strawberry risotto.
6. What makes you proud to be part of the Team Pizzolato team?
I am happy to be part of a dynamic and innovative company, pioneering progress and at the same time steadfast to its values and concept of sustainability. Not to be outdone by a team of professional and helpful people who welcomed me, making me feel part of the big Pizzolato family right away. I think this is the perfect environment to test my skills, growing and improving day by day!
AUGUST 2023.
Today we would like to introduce you to Anna, who is responsible for our store and winery Hospitality activities. Let's read what she told us about herself!
1. How many years have you been part of the Pizzolato team and what role do you play in the company?
I have been part of the Pizzolato team for about a year.
My journey began last year through a university internship, which allowed me to join the winery's hospitality team.
To date, I am in charge of store management and the development of hospitality activities, including tours and tastings.
2. What does your job consist of?
My job consists of following all aspects of direct sales in the wine shop, from stock management to welcoming customers, always recommending the most suitable wine for their needs and tastes.
I also take care of hospitality activities such as tastings, tours, and corporate events.
In addition to this, I provide support to the marketing team regarding communication and graphic workmanship for reception and store promotion activities.
3. If you could change roles in the winery for a day, which one would you like to take on?
I would like to further my supporting role in the marketing and communications department of the winery, tackling press relations and content creation for the promotion of products and events held at the winery.
4. Hobbies and passions in your life?
I love reading fantasy books, which always manage to transport me to other worlds and immerse me in a thousand different adventures.
The biggest passion in my life, however, is theater! I have been part of a theater company for almost ten years. I am always amazed at the ability of a single show, in just a few hours, to transport you inside the story, to convey important messages, but most of all to leave you with great emotions.
5. If you were a wine, what Pizzolato wine would you be? And If you were a dish and wine pairing what would you come up with?
Definitely I would be the Huakai, the White wine IGT Veneto from the Piwi line, young but with an old soul. Tasting it is like taking a journey to discover all its fruity notes and, you know, it's always nice to travel, whether in company or solo.
I like to experiment, which is why I would pair it with a good vegetarian pizza! Fresh, but firm flavors, perfect for an evening spent with friends laughing together.
6. What makes you proud to be part of the Team Pizzolato team?
I wouldn't know how else to describe the Pizzolato team other than as one big family; right from the start, I was welcomed with open arms, and the chemistry that was created with my colleagues was immediate. Cantina Pizzolato has always strived to create a collaborative, constructive and, when needed, festive work climate.
I am proud to be part of the great Pizzolato family!
APRIL 2023.
Today we introduce Nicola, the winery's foreign sales manager, who makes our organic wine travel the world! Let's read what he told us about himself!
1. How many years have you been part of the Pizzolato team and what role do you play in the company?
I joined Pizzolato's Export Team about a year ago, and I must say the time has flown by!
In particular, I am in charge of sales of our organic wines in foreign markets.
2. What does your job consist of?
My role is to meet the daily needs of our international partners both historical and new, the true Ambassadors of our labels all over the world, trying to transmit to them the taste for good, the values and philosophy of the Pizzolato family.
At the same time I try to collect and treasure their ideas and suggestions in order to have a real "pulse" on the dynamics and trends in the various markets, sometimes visiting and working alongside customers on site to literally support them side by side.
3. If you could change roles in the winery for a day, which one would you like to take on?
Although one day certainly would not be enough, I would love to work alongside our winemakers and cellarers to observe and better understand all the processes of winemaking. After many years in this industry, it always fascinates me greatly how the fruits of nature can be transformed and ennobled through the skillful but discreet intervention of man until they reach the goblets of the world.
4. Hobbies and passions in your life?
I am sporty and a movie buff (but I don't like TV series). I love to travel in all the ways the word "travel" can be understood. That is also why I love my job!
5. If you were a wine, what Pizzolato wine would you be? And If you were a dish and wine pairing what would you come up with?
I choose the Manzoni Bianco from the "Back to Basic" line, an indigenous grape variety that is the result of a "magical" marriage between two really interesting grape varieties that in my opinion is not recognized and appreciated as it deserves even outside our production area.
I particularly like its elegance, its discreet personality but with very recognizable aromatic notes that always leave a good memory.
The pairing is easy, and as with all quality wines I associate it with moments of conviviality and sharing: the Sunday risotto with the family or the aperitif with seafood appetizers outside on a summer evening with friends.
For my wife, who loves Sushi, there must always be a bottle in the fridge!
6. What makes you proud to be part of the Team Pizzolato team?
Being part of such a young and dynamic Team - Family in which everyone makes the company's philosophy their own and pushes each other to improve is a great motivation.
I consider it a great responsibility but also a great honor to be able to represent all over the world, through the Wines, the history and commitment of the Pizzolato family and the hard daily work of all my colleagues!

In my spare time I love to relax in the mountains. For me it is not only a hike, silence, Nature but also a challenge, as is life. My job consists of constantly monitoring the situation in order to schedule bottlings at the appropriate time. To do this, I constantly compare myself with the winemakers and the commercial part of the company, but also with the bottling line manager. 3. If you could change roles at the winery for a day, which one would you like to take on?

The work I do is also a real passion, which is why I pursue it hard! Besides that, I am a big fan of soccer and I also really enjoy going fishing to relax. Future goals also include taking a Sommelier course.
5. If you were a wine, what Pizzolato wine would you be? And If you were a dish and wine pairing what would you come up with?
In answering this question, I am greatly helped by the dedication that my father Settimo made to me a few years ago when he decided to call FREDERIK a sparkling Chardonnay: that is my heart wine and I like it very much. So if I were a pairing, I would want to be a good glass of FREDERIK accompanied by some great freshly caught raw fish.
6. What makes you proud to be part of the Cantina Pizzolato team?
I am very proud of the group of people I work with, everyone does their best to grow, day after day, the success of the company and being part of such a cohesive and committed group makes me very proud indeed!
JUNE 2020.
Today we introduce Stefania Pizzolato, daughter of Settimo Pizzolato and administrative employee of the company! Here is what she tells us about herself...
1. How many years have you been part of the Pizzolato team and what role do you play in the company?
I have been working in the family business for a year and a half. From the very first moment, I wanted to get to know the reality of the company starting with the area, in my opinion, most important for the health of a company: the financial-administrative department.
2. What does your work consist of?
At the moment, I am mainly involved in accounts payable, alongside my father mainly in managing the grape suppliers that we follow on the front line. However, my workday includes other activities, from checking and confirming bids and quotes, to recording corresponding invoices, to managing payment deadlines, to cash accounts.
3. If you could change roles in the winery for a day, which one would you like to take on?
During my student years I always thought I had clear ideas: I would like, in my future, to dedicate myself to selling in the world of my family's wines, illustrating their history, traditions and innovations. To this day, if I could change roles, I would then like to travel to spread the quality of our wines.
4. Hobbies and passions in your life?
My greatest passion is horses, to which I devote at least two hours every day for training and care, a passion this inherited from my father Settimo, also a great lover of these animals. Within our estate I have a small stable where I can house my three horses. In the field of horseback riding my sport is, in fact, Equestrian Competition for which I train constantly in order to be able to give my best in the competition fields.
5. If you were a wine, what Pizzolato wine would you be? And If you were a dish and wine pairing what would you come up with?
If I were a wine I would want to be the Raboso; I am very attached to traditions and am very determined, but I can also be sensitive and helpful, a bit like the soft note of Raboso due to its maturation in wooden barrels. As a pairing I would opt for HO'OPA and sushi. Another aspect of my character is to be curious, which allows me to always try and learn about new, innovative things.
6. What makes you proud to be part of the Cantina Pizzolato team?
We are a young, bubbly, never-stop group, constantly coordinated by the company's core elements who, with their life and work experience, lead us in the right direction without ever losing sight of traditions and goals.

1. How many years have you been part of the Pizzolato team and what role do you play in the company?
SETTIMO: I have joined my father in running the family business since 1981, along with my choice to run it organically.
SABRINA: I have been working in the winery since 1999 and I am export manager of the winery.
2. What does your work consist of?
SETTIMO: I like to call myself an "agricultural entrepreneur": I am the legal representative of Cantina Pizzolato SRL and the owner of the farm. I take care of internal management and represent the company in all relations with our stakeholders. I also take firsthand care of the campaign and the search for grape suppliers by making all the delicate decisions regarding vine care, my absolute favorite role.
SABRINA: I am mainly involved in product development in continuous discussion with my customers and markets, which I am lucky enough to visit regularly. To date I also support Settimo in the general management of the winery.
3. If you could change roles in the winery for a day, which one would you like to take on?
SETTIMO: I have played very different roles during my history in the company, but what I wish I could always do is take care of my land.
SABRINA: I'd love to be a winemaker but it wouldn't take a day: directing the grape harvest from the cellar to the finished bottle and deeply understanding how important the quality of the raw material is and how much a winemaker's skilled hand weighs in the success of a wine.
4. Hobbies and passions in your life?
SETTIMO: my greatest passion is taking care of the vine: following its entire production cycle and adapting the choices according to the weather pattern of each season is an ever-changing but very stimulating challenge. I also like to relax with long horseback rides and enjoy following my favorite sport, soccer.
SABRINA: Definitely my greatest passion is my work from which a thousand other passions flow, a work that allows me to travel and discover cultures and societies different from my own. It makes me feel like a citizen of the world. In addition, I am a mom of Edoardo, our little boy, and with him the world is an even more special place today.
5. If you were a wine, what Pizzolato wine would you be? And If you were a dish and wine pairing what would you come up with?
SETTIMO: certainly as many may know my wine is Barbarossa. A raboso Malanotte DOCG, a sincere frank wine, austere, with great structure but also able to be elegant and whose label represents me. I think we both speak of nature, of the love for our land.
Excellent in my opinion accompanied by a Tuscan cigar and chatting with friends.
SABRINA: I would definitely be our prosecco DOC brut. When I have an idea, I want it to be realized right away and this wine with its immediacy, versatility and freshness is the wine that perfectly matches my concept of IDEA.
Pairing is a game for me where there are no rules and nobody wins. So free rein for the imagination....
6. It's been four years since the winery's opening, what is your fondest memory of that day?
SETTIMO: It was two inauguration days that I will never forget. There are so many memories of those days : what impressed me most are the emotions of my children during the ribbon cutting, the hug from Sabrina and the really warm closeness of all the people who were present and ready to celebrate such a beautiful milestone. The warmth and affection of those days, that definitely stayed with me.
SABRINA: The memory that I carry in my heart and that when I think back on it really makes my heart smile is the joy in the eyes of Settimo, the total and purest happiness for having succeeded together in making a dream come true.
7. Your favorite motto?
SETTIMO: absolutely this: "Optimism is a form of courage that gives confidence to others and leads to success."
SABRINA: It is clearly visible from my desk, I read it every day in our little square: "Whatever you can do, whatever you can dream, begin. Boldness carries within it brilliance, magic and strength. Begin now!"
8. What is your dream for the future of this company?
SETTIMO: I dream of a dynamic future full of new projects!
SABRINA: We live the present with intense energy, with this recipe the future will certainly be above all our expectations!
