Raboso, a grape variety of Veneto tradition, is the undisputed star of an entire week of events, organized at the winery starting with an overseas tasting.
To celebrate Raboso, a wine that carries with it all the complexity and richness of the Veneto region, we have decided to organize in November "La Settimana Del Raboso". A week completely dedicated to this extraordinary native grape variety to celebrate its various declinations: from November 21 to 26 is, in fact, scheduled a full calendar of events, including tastings and themed dinners that will begin with the presentation of Raboso overseas, in the Philippines.
"The Raboso Piave," says Settimo Pizzolato, patron of the winery, "is an indigenous grape variety that my family is very fond of, and there are numerous harvest memories associated with this grape from the Treviso tradition. We produce several types of Raboso including "Il Barbarossa," a fictional name derived from the red beard of the family men, a Malanotte del Piave DOCG that we have been vinifying since 2008, the year the DOCG was born: a vintage that immediately proved to be a winner, obtaining the first prize "Milleuno Malanotte" at the Camalò wine festival. These years then saw many other prestigious awards for this wine. Today "Il Barbarossa" makes us proud as we export the tradition of an area to countries such as Belgium, Finland all the way to Japan and China producing more than two thousand bottles a year. It is a grape variety that in every vintage has the ability to convey the value and truth of a territory that becomes wine."
Malanotte is precisely dedicated to its author, Settimo, who is portrayed on the label. Two strong spirits who love the land that spawned them, aware that organic is the modern take on the centuries-old Veneto farming experience.
Often associated with its being "Rabbioso," given its pronounced acidity, Raboso is a wine dear to the Venetian tradition, which in recent years is beginning to be known beyond its borders, thanks in part to those producers who, knowing its potential, propose it to an increasingly varied public. We try to always remain in the forefront from this point of view: in fact, for years we have been organizing tastings and previews that feature this grape variety, in addition to being a reality known in Italy and around the world thanks to the iconic "Barbarossa." Testifying to the importance we attach to this wine, is certainly our desire to give it an international scope, so that the tradition that has accompanied the Piave territory since the most ancient times, can enchant even the palates of the most distant countries, giving them a taste of authenticity and letting them discover even the most hidden parts of our territory.
