Gender equality in the winery: more than a commitment

Can a company call itself sustainable without ensuring equal opportunities for all its employees? When it comes to anti-discrimination, gender equality, fairness, rights and breaking down inequalities, the work done is never enough. We are proud to have embarked on a path for gender equality at the winery. 

Those who have known us for a while know: in our own small way, we try to make the planet we live on a better place than we found it.

From day one, we have been committed to respecting and caring for the environment, promoting sustainable agriculture and wine production. Yet as we grew up, we began to question our reality, asking, "What else can we do?"

Thus, we decided that we would not settle for a positive and respectful work environment for our employees, but that we would create one that was as fair and inclusive as possible, allowing every talent to develop and emerge.

Well, we have said it in words! We're okay with that, right?

Wrong! After words must come deeds!

In 2024, at Cantina Pizzolato , we decided to challenge the strong male bias that historically characterizes the world of wine by embarking on a concrete path, with a desire to obtain the issuance of the Certificate for Gender Equality in the Winery.

This certification is based on strict and measurable criteria, such as women's representation in leadership roles and company policies for work-life balance. With it, we will put in black and white how there is no room for discrimination in our winery, as everyone can count on the same rights, opportunities and dignity.

Toward 2025-and beyond!

The current year will be pivotal and will see us working daily to achieve our goals. We are convinced that this issue concerns everyone, because a fair and inclusive work environment is a stimulus for everyone's creativity, benefiting the individual and, consequently, the company as a whole. Let us not forget.
