Our Prosecco DOC flies to USA between terroir and tradition
Prosecco DOC originates in an area with unique environmental conditions. The Prosecco DOC production area is located in the northeastern area of Italy and more precisely in the territories falling within 4 provinces of Friuli Venezia Giulia (Gorizia, Pordenone, Trieste and Udine) and 5 provinces of Veneto (Belluno, Padua, Treviso, Venice, Vicenza), one of the most beautiful territories of the Italian peninsula.
The grapes for the production of our Prosecchi DOC come from Glera, an indigenous grape variety of northeastern Italy, known since Roman times.
Glera is a white grape variety. It has hazelnut-colored shoots and produces large, long clusters with golden-yellow berries. In addition to vertical orientation of the shoots and elimination of supernumerary shoots, its cultivation involves topping and tying to obtain a microclimate suitable for the accumulation of aromatic substances on the berry.
Pizzolato wines that have landed in the US are Prosecco DOC Pizzolato Fields Brut, Prosecco DOC rosé Pizzolato Fields Brut, Prosecco DOC without added sulfites, Prosecco DOC Pizzolato brut "M-use."
Prosecco DOC Pizzolato is produced here in Villorba, in the province of Treviso, within our organic green lung of an estate. In fact, the Glera vineyards are cultivated according to the organic method and the grapes are selected guaranteeing high quality of the raw material, healthy and vigorous grapes, with the goal of obtaining an excellent wine. Prosecco DOC Pizzolato is also vegan certified, as no products of animal origin are included in the production processes to make it.
"We believed in organic, even before everyone else, working hard not only in the vineyard, but more generally through the running of the winery according to our Social Report. Our Prosecco DOC is the product of excellence for our winery, with great export success both in countries like America and Scandinavian countries. The organic quality, freshness of these wines and their genuineness are at the forefront of our philosophy to give the foreign consumer the authentic flavor that our vineyards and the terroir of the Prosecco DOC appellation give us every year " - comments Sabrina Rodelli, export manager.
