Tradition and innovation blend harmoniously in the grapes Raboso, an indigenous grape variety that is the spokesperson for our company philosophy, which is based on passion and deep attachment to the land.

Characterized by charm and complexity, the Raboso Malanotte DOCG "Il Barbarossa" is the result of careful vineyard care and high-quality winemaking that becomes the ultimate expression of Raboso del Piave and its terroir. Our Malanotte DOCG is an austere, intense and full-bodied wine with elegant aromas that release hints of morello cherry and cherry, which reaches the glasses after at least 3 years from the harvest, being vinified in red for 80% of the grapes, while the remaining 20% is dried on wooden boxes for about 90 days. The blended wine rests for about 24 months in oak barrels and barriques, followed by a 6-month aging in bottles.

A wine that aims to satisfy the most discerning palates, ideal to enjoy on special occasions and perfect in combination with the savory proposals of Veneto cuisine, meat dishes and aged cheeses, but also to be enjoyed as a meditation wine with dark chocolate, for a moment of pure pleasure.

Its full-bodied structure and persistence on the palate reveal the high level of care and attention given to each stage of production, from the vineyard to the winery, as evidenced by the many awards it has received over the years and of which it makes us proud: the Bollino Rosso at the Merano Wine Festival 2023, the Diploma di Merito at the Enoconegliano 2023 and the Diploma di Gran Merito at the 47th Mostra dei Vini Triveneti di Camalò 2023 for the 2019 vintage.

"The Raboso Piave is an indigenous grape variety that my family is very fond of, which pays homage to the prestigious oenological history of our region," - says Settimo Pizzolato, founder and president of our winery. "We have been vinifying our Barbarossa Malanotte del Piave DOCG since 2008, the year the DOCG was born; a vintage that immediately proved to be a winner, earning the first prize "Milleuno Malanotte" at the Camalò wine festival. An authentic expression of the passion and dedication we devote to production and a testament to the constant search for innovation that treasures the roots of the area's winemaking tradition."

A long commitment to the enhancement of this traditional grape variety that demonstrates how sustainability and respect for the quality of the grapes - founding values of our company philosophy - can lead to exceptional results. Today we also export Malanotte DOCG Barbarossa to countries such as Japan, China and the Philippines and tell the world about the winemaking tradition of the Veneto region.

Our Raboso declinations participate in the event "La Corte del Raboso, the Malanotte and the Autoctoni del Piave": come visit us on Sunday, October 22!

A special event in the historic center of Treviso, made possible thanks to the Associazione Italiana Sommelier Veneto, with the support of the City of Treviso, Consorzio Vini Venezia and the Confraternita del Raboso Piave. A new edition, expanded in content, to promote some of the best red wines of the Marca, in their various interpretations and declinations, as well as the entire Piave area.

In this edition each exhibitor will have the opportunity to present their wines made from grapes Raboso, giving preference to Piave Malanotte DOCG, but also wines made from indigenous grape varieties.

To enrich the program of the previous edition, in addition to tours, guided tastings and food and wine proposals, the national competition for "Best Sommelier of Raboso" will also be held, with important training moments for wine communicators.

The event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the historic "CONVENTUARY COMPLEX OF SANTA CATERINA" at Piazzetta M. Botter, 1 in Treviso.

In addition, on the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 21, AIS Veneto will promote, under the LOGGIA dei CAVALIERI, Sunday's event in a preview of only wines from grapes Raboso inviting you to discover and taste it.
