January, the month of new beginnings, shines with a special light this year on this anniversary to remember: we are celebrating the 10th year of Veganuary, a word born from the union of "vegan" and "january," or the challenge to eat vegan in January!

"New year, new life!"

Since time immemorial, at the beginning of a new year we make a list of goals to achieve, welcome new things, and plan new projects. So this is an ideal time to try something new that can be beneficial for both us and the planet.

Veganuary is a global initiative started in 2014 by a British nonprofit organization to emphasize the benefits of vegan food involving the environment, animals and people.

This is a challenge to eat vegan for an entire month. The purpose is to dissolve all traces of animal-derived ingredients from one's diet for the entire month of January: not only meat and fish, but also eggs and dairy products, opening the door to grains, vegetables, fruits and legumes.

The goal is to entice people to experiment with plant-based eating throughout the month of January, to show the wide range of flavors and full satisfaction that creative and tasty recipes can offer, using natural and sustainable ingredients.

What drives this adventure is an awareness of acting for the good of the environment, helping to preserve the earth through food choices.

But then, what would change if the whole world went vegan for a month?
  • 680 million tons of CO₂ ¹ would be saved.
  • 64 billion animals would be saved ²
  • 200 billion m³ of water ³ would be saved.
  • Deforestation would be slowed down ⁴.

Even in Italy, the number of people choosing to follow a vegan diet is increasing more and more.

Vegan certification has been a boast of our winery since 2012. A certification that attests not only to the quality of our products, but also to our commitment to walking the path of organic farming and sustainable supply chains.

Our PIWI wines align perfectly with the Veganuary's innovative and challenging philosophy!
They are the result of experimentation with fungal disease-resistant grape varieties, which has produced wines with unique flavors and aromas to be discovered, perhaps accompanying new and delicious vegan recipes!

How about you, do you take the challenge of taking on a vegan diet in January?
