The year 2021 was a record year with a double positive sign with exports at 90 percent confirming the international vocation of our winery. We tell you about it through an interview with Sabrina Rodelli, export manager of the winery as well as co-owner. Let's read what she told us.

What were the new markets reached in 2021 and what were the main business actions?
"The year 2021 was another year where our organic wines were ambassadors of themselves and bearers of experiences that from our point of view cannot be experienced forever just in front of a screen. We planned and implemented numerous expeditions to many parts of the world, opening their doors and creating the basis for some business relationships that we hope will be consolidated in the coming years. A new and leading market in 2021 was definitely Israel. After two years of research and market studies, we managed to achieve Kosher certification for three wines that will be distributed in many specialty stores in the Israeli state. During the year 2022 we will try to consolidate other markets such as Singapore, Iceland and even China with a new domestic importer. However, we are now watching world affairs with concern; the winds of war in the east will again cripple the economy in many ways."
What was the market trend and what was the export percentage?
"The year 2021 was a record year, confirming a positive trend that began in the pre-pandemic period with +25% compared to 2020, thus reaching in the 40th anniversary year of our winery's history a historical record.
The export percentage stabilizes around 90% confirming the company's vocation, but also the consolidated demand for organic wines in markets around the world. It is in fact consistency that rewards La Cantina Pizzolato, which, with more than 8 million bottles exclusively certified organic, is today among the leaders in organic viticulture. An ever-evolving company that critically and purposefully panders to the demands of the markets, which today more than ever seem to no longer follow established and static dynamics."
On-farm activities 2021: the new holding company and the new agri wine bar. How were these enormous goals achieved?
"During 2021 La Cantina Pizzolato wanted to lay the foundations for building the future of the next generation: the creation of a family holding company. A very important step aimed above all at consolidating some investments in the organic wine world with increasingly broader corporate, social and territorial views.
Another step forward, this time aimed at our wine tourism sector, was the completion of the winery architectural project started in 2016, with the inauguration and opening of our agri-wine bar, L'Officina del Vino. A venue immersed in the organic vineyards of Villorba ready to host wine enthusiasts and wine lovers, thus offering a complete experience: from visiting the vineyard to tasting our wines. A comportment, that of hospitality, in which we believe a lot and that we live with passion and dedication, proudly welcoming our guests to whom we try to tell and transmit our organic philosophy through real experiences in the vineyard and in the cellar and through our wines, enhancing them now with the products of our farm."
Let's get to the heart of the company: exponential growth has been seen in both turnover and the number of employees. What is your future vision?
"In the past two years our company has really grown exponentially, almost doubling the number of employees from 20 to 38. To cope with this growth, of which we are proud, but which we need to know how to manage as best we can, we started in 2021 a path of business coaching, role downsizing, and counseling toward employees. This is a necessary challenge for a company like ours that has experienced significant performance in just a few years, but still wants to safeguard the values of a family business, offering all employees a professional and state-of-the-art workplace to enable professional and human growth. We believe that now more than ever people must be placed at the center of the company project: it is around people, their skills, energies and passions that a solid foundation is built."
