The issue of sustainability has been the foundation of our business choices for years and has also become a focal point for our relations with our external reality. It is a value that has belonged to us since the origins of our company and that we also continually seek among our main stakeholders: for manufacturing companies, the relationship with a supplier who speaks the same language is fundamental.
Over the years, the winery has been committed to discovering and studying alternative and sustainable solutions with a low environmental impact, even in the creation of the wine bottle packaging: in particular, we would like to draw attention today to the DOC Sparkling Wine label that speaks...green!
This line has recently seen a change of clothes, and some environmental improvements have been adopted for the entire product range:
- the paper used is not barrier-coated, that is, it is not laminated to plastic to resist contact with ice and water in the glacette. Despite this, the new label has a very high degree of tightness to the bucket. The plastic savings compared to previous production is considerable and is estimated at about 350 kg of plastic not produced.
- braille (screen printing technique) and screen printing colors that have a high environmental impact in terms of ink were eliminated. These materials have been replaced by low migration offset colors with mechanical embossing and low relief embossing achieved by pressing a plate onto the material itself.
- production was done in a single pass on the latest generation German machine with low energy consumption. Work begins and ends on the same machine without the need for additional passes and other equipment.
"Webegan our journey toward sustainability in 1981 without any real awareness that we were on the road that would lead us to support the proper development of our company. Before, this road was a dirt path and many times hardly passable. Today it is a 6-lane highway, in perfect American style, along which we can drive with assisted driving. The company has committed itself to constant improvement of the product, enhancing its organic characteristic; at the same time it has transformed its appearance with continuous research in the field of green label & sustainable packaging: this is the only viable lane for us " - comments Sabrina Rodelli, export manager of the winery.
