The concept of organic, which we have embraced from the beginning, has inspired us in our choices, pushing us to improve in every area to safeguard the health of the Earth and to create connections with our people, our suppliers and local communities.
We have therefore chosen to contribute to sustainability, not only environmental sustainability but also social and economic sustainability, by trying to go beyond our organic foundation and making sustainability a pillar of our business philosophy.
But what does it really mean to do sustainability beyond organic for us?
First and foremost, we want our employees to be able to grow within the company, both professionally and personally. We strongly believe in their training, in fact we invest in them with courses that can increase both their technical and relational skills. We believe that the well-being and increased professionalism of our employees can benefit the entire company and, consequently, the community.
Another very important aspect for us is the choice of our suppliers. 64%, in fact, are rooted in the province of Treviso, this allows us to create a deep bond with them and with our territory. This choice, in addition to fortifying the local social fabric, reduces the environmental impact from transportation, bringing us ever closer to our vision of all-round sustainability.
Just under the aspect of social sustainability, we are committed all year round with special attention to the harvest period. In order to minimize the risk of injury, illness and fatigue, grape harvesting in our vineyards is predominantly a mechanized process. However, some activities, such as pruning the Glera vines, must be done by hand. We have built over the years a relationship of cooperation and respect, based on the fairness of each team member, with those who help us in these activities, thus creating a specialized team.
Being sustainable also means being able to look forward!
Among our accomplishments, we became a Benefit Corporation in 2022 and achieved Equalitas certification in 2023. We now aim to become a B Corp in the near future. It is a challenging path, but we are convinced that it is the right path.
Making sustainability beyond organic, is a daily practice made up of conscious, sometimes uncomfortable, but necessary choices. We are committed to never settling and always taking a step forward, for the good of our community and the planet.
The path may seem long, but together, with conscious choices, we can make a significant difference.
