It is with great excitement that we inform you that our Raboso IGT Veneto "BACK TO BASIC" wins THE GOLD LABEL in the category "Still Red Wines with Designation of Origin and Geographical Indication of the 2020 and 2019 vintages" in the context of the 25th Vinitaly Design International Packaging Competition 2021.
"This award gratifies the effort spent on this project that I personally followed and had in my drawer for some time. BACK TO BASIC," comments Sabrina Rodelli, export manager of our winery, "represents 100% the evolutionary path we have taken in recent years. Years in which we have been listening to consumers who, increasingly aware, are asking us for products that give concrete form to the principles of environmental sustainability, recycling and reuse of materials and reduction of environmental impact. As a winery we are called upon to do our part, and we have found partners who have decided to enthusiastically embrace this supply chain project by proposing or even specially making their most sustainable product."
An important and long-awaited award that celebrates the innovative philosophy that inspires the packaging of an entire and brand new line of organic wines: respect for the environment, sustainable development, social responsibility and sharing commitments with its suppliers in a single 100% green product whose stated goal is to minimize the impact of the wine supply chain on the environment.
"The Vinitaly Design International Packaging Competition represents a nationally and internationally recognized event, and as a designer," comments Stefano Torregrossa, art director of O'Nice Design, "getting this prestigious award represents a personal and professional satisfaction for me, linked not only to a single label but to an entire sustainable project that I have followed with much dedication, together with Sabrina, to make it real. To date, it is significant to see that even the international eye of the wine market gives due recognition to projects that do not look only at aesthetics, the visual side of the design itself or the thousands of processes behind complex labels but, rather, are composed of a quality of design that tends to be more minimal being already loaded with messages related to attention to the environment and sustainability of the materials used of which they are composed."
Evaluated and awarded by an international jury of designers, art-directors and journalists, the BACK TO BASIC label stood out for its low environmental impact. In fact, the label, made of Sabrage paper, 100% recycled and obtained from cotton industry processing waste, contains no plastics or other non-naturally derived materials. It occupies, on the bottle, as little space as possible, and is one piece banding so as to reduce the amount of glue. In addition, the debossing technique minimizes the use of inks, which is less than 1 percent, and, in the mandatory parts, the color is engraved by offset processing, which is the least impactful processing.
But BACK TO BASIC is a project that involves the concept of sustainability at 360°: in fact, all the wines in this new line of ours go far beyond the organic philosophy and involve the entire packaging chain composed of eco elements: the WINE, whose certified organic and vegan grapes come from the vineyards of the Pizzolato winery; the GLASS, wild glass, composed of 94% recycled glass; the Cork entirely made of cork, a 100% ecological and sustainable, natural, recyclable and reusable material that allows us to offset a CO₂ level of 297 grams; the LABEL, described above and finally also the CARDBOARD PACKAGING, which features 79% recycled paper.
